Day 15 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge. Half Way Through.

11/22/2013

Wow time flies! Couple days ago I was at my half mark, 2 weeks of my 4 weeks.
So today, Friday evening I decided to balance out my $$ created by now. Here is what I got by now: $3330 generated in hard cash and $6873 generated in created opportunities that will result in cash in December but I don't have cash in hand by now (I will categorize them as bonuses to my game at this point). So for now I have $11670 to go!  I'd better get my ass in gear!

Wins since my last post:
  • Today my boss just told me that they found a way to keep me for 2 more weeks in December. Woo hoo 2 weeks of salary that I didn't plan for!
  • The cancellation request for one of the courses I registered back in May and requested a refund right away has finally been processed! $597 should hopefully appear in my account in the next few days!
  • I got certified as a Harmony Integration coach! Hard earned by training and coach hours!
Insights and learnings from overall two weeks:
  • Money can come from all sorts of unexpected places if I am just open.
  • If I want to create big money, I need to put my focus on creating value for others rather than on the money I want to get. Question that I will be asking myself for the next two weeks: what do I need to do to create value for others equal to $11670 remaining or more?

Ready for a week-end of work and play! I will finally create time to get very clear on my target clients I want to work with, update my website etc. I will also do some de-cluttering and feng shui my abundance area of my house to create space for the money flow!

Have a great week-end everyone!

Day 8 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

Wow tiredness getting to me. Not having enough sleep, doing intense work and still wanting to stay present to this commitment, I started to notice that something gets to change. I also noticed that I started to put lots of pressure on myself, that I am supposed to do something about this goal even when I have no free time or energy. Something to process and integrate next time I do a session.

Wins/Insights for the day:
  • Taught another kizomba class! Today was different, it was more about practicing connection and relating dance and experience created during it back to life. I loved it! So did the people, I got some great feedback.
  • Received an amazing Harmony Integration session. Realized that my problem that had lots of charge for me was that I was afraid and doubtful that I can create a sustainable lifestyle by fully being myself and doing what I love. Running a process (Deep Peat from Harmony Integration) I realized quite a few things: that I was doubting until I can see the clear "how", but often "how" cannot be revealed until I fully commit, and I was holding back to commit until I see the "how". Catch 22. Also I realized that I was afraid to let go of things before I know what I will fill up the space by (job, income etc.). BUT very often when the space is cluttered, new things cannot come in before the space is cleared. I wanted to skip the step but now realize that letting go and de-cluttering on all levels is an important first step. I also discovered that I had a big discomfort to be in the unknown. I was so pleased that through the process the unknown turned into the white space filled with excitement!

Off to sleep now, I can't believe it's only day 3 of the training. 4 more to go! Looking forward to creating a breakthrough in the abundance in time and my energy level!

Day 7 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

Day 7 started great! I got asked to teach a kizomba class as a body movement in the morning before Harmony Integration training starts. I had an evening to prepare and had the biggest class I had to date (around 70 people). This was a big stretch and a great learning for me. The dynamic of working with a bigger group is way different from 10-15 people classes. Excited that I stretched my comfort zone and got a few people inspired by kizomba enough so they want to seek out classes in their local area :) Mission accomplished!

Day 6 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

Wow it's been a long day... Waking up at 8 am, being in training for almost 12 hours and tomorrow starting at 8 30 am. So tonight post will be short.

Today was the first day of 7-day Harmony Integration Coach training I came back to staff. I can't believe it's been half a year since I've taken it myself as a student. So much has changed since then! This time I am back, lo learn but first and foremost support the coaches who are going through it the first time.

My personal intention for these upcoming 7 days is to fully process and integrate the last blocks so I can step in my full power as a coach and run it as a business and fully serve people without holding back. Synchronistically enough right around the time I stood up today in front of everyone and declared that intention I got an email from a potential client I had a discovery session a few weeks ago saying that she would like to work with me starting December!

I also manifested a pretty awesome opportunity for me to stretch myself and step into a leading role in the training tomorrow morning (will share details later).

Wins:
  • A new client out of the blue without me doing anything
  • Opportunity for tomorrow
  • Seeing how much I've come along and acknowledge the progress I created since the last training
  • On my day 3 of meditation. Oprah and Deepak Chopra have a free 21-day meditation challenge right now on the topic "Desire and Destiny". They publish a 20-min guided meditation audio on the topic. Highly recommend. It started November 11 but they keep audio for 5 days, so you can still make it if you start now.

Insights:
  • Reminder: when given the opportunity to lead, lead!
  • As long as I stretch myself every day and stepping into the uncomfortable space, I am moving forward.

I will leave you with another video from Bashar on what abundance is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mz90E9e8QQ

Day 5 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

OMG what a full day!
I have fully accepted that fact that before 3pm I am just not being productive on anything related to my coaching and creating money (a track record of the whole last week). BUT after about 6 pm till about midnight I rock!

After getting some of my project management work done in the first part of the day, and between 4 and 6 pm helping set up a room for a Harmony Integration coach training that starts tomorrow here in White Rock, BC, I got home about 6 pm. For about couple hours I was fighting myself trying to be productive and work on my website or doing anything on my coaching and I was totally resisting and procrastinating. About 8 pm I finally slowed down and asked myself what I would be excited about doing in that area rather than pushing myself. Reading came to mind. I've started reading this book "Prosperous Coach" about how to create a full coaching practice in a fun and connected way. So I set everything aside and got to continue reading it. OMG this book rocks my world! I love the approach which is all about creating relationships and focusing on giving value rather than selling and at the same time creating an abundant practice with committed and exciting clients.

Flip flopping the whole day about what level of detail I need to design my coaching packages to, by the end of the night after reading the book I decided that it overall doesn't matter. The most important thing is to focus on the kind of clients I want to work with and then diving into coaching, no more excuses or busy work. So what I will do is create a list of criteria I want to use to filter out MY clients and then put a video on my Services page about that and whoever is interested and fits the criteria can sign up for an initial free session with me and if by the end of it it feels like a fit to work together we can design a package right there and then that fits best. Plus I will make my initial free sessions 2 hours looks instead of 30 minutes so I can really serve people and they can fully experience my coaching and see if this is something that works for them and worth their investment.

So in the next week even with my busy schedule of staffing Harmony Integration coach training during the day and putting in project management hours in the evenings I commit to finish the list of criteria for my clients, create a video and have it ready to launch next week when I am back in Seattle and have more time.

And I feel so happy that I got our of resistant space about reaching out to prospective clients to an exciting one!

Wins from the day:
  • shifted from mindset of getting (as hence resisting it) into serving in the process of creating clients.
  • have clear steps on what I can do next in my coaching and feel excited about them
  • stopped fighting the lack of productivity in the first part of the day, focus more on the amount of progress I create in the second part
  • had some very fulfilling authentic revealing conversations in my personal relationships
  • got an initial form back from a perspective client, ready to schedule my first session with him
  • starting Deepak Chopra and Oprah free 21-day meditations challenge "Desire and Destiny". What a perfect timing for this program when i am starting to step into what I truly want to do with my life.

Insights:
  • It's not about how much time I have, it's about how I use it. I can waste long periods of time or create tons of progress in a very short period of time. I think I am finally creating a breakthrough in abundance in time!
  • remember when things are not flowing, ask myself "out of all the options what do I feel excited about to do right now" and do it. My favorite video how this feeling of excitement is actually the best criteria to figure out what's best to do can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB-NLlwzfOM
  • so many insights and shifts in perspective from reading "Prosperous Coach", will be too long to list them here.
  • connection is a natural state between people. it only gets blocked when we hide things or hold back and not fully express ourselves. when we clear all the withholds and  express everything that is unsaid, deep connection has no choice other that show up. The best book about authenticity and being real is "Geting Real" by Susan Campbell. Highly recommend it!

So excited about tomorrow! In the next seven days straight I will be helping facilitate Harmony Integration coach training which I took half a year ago and which was so pivotal in my personal development as well as in my coaching. Looking forward to serving all the new coaches diving into it as well as learning lots myself and creating massive shifts in my life through this intensive work.

Time to go to bed and get some sleep.

Day 4 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

11/11/2013

Wins:
  • had a few people interested in my bedrooms rentals, raised prices twice and am still getting interest.
  • had a great coaching session with my friend
  • had a great time kizomba dancing in Vancouver BC
  • discovered that t-mobile has free data and text roaming in Canada! Enjoying staying connected while there with no extra charges!

Insights and learnings:
  • I need to take at least one step every day that's a stretch in the direction of my goal, otherwise its too easy to go backwards in being comfortable and just going with the flow
  • I need to create a high-level plan, not necessarily the list of all the actions but the high-level list of possibilities on how I can create $$ and outline 1-3 first steps for each.
  • every day set the intention for the day (either in the morning or evening), otherwise the day can pass by unconsciously and nothing gets accomplished.
  • if I found myself dwelling on what I should have done today, write those steps on my action list to get them out of my head and plan for the future days (be constructive, beating myself up does not help)
  • driving can actually be productive (made a few important phone calls on my drive from Seattle to Vancouver)
  • notice when I am being busy because I am avoiding that important uncomfortable action. When notice that: do that action. 9 out of 10 it's not as hard and uncomfortable as it seems.

Going to bed now. I love this learning experience. I want to end this post with the quote from famous speaker Jim Rohn that a friend of mine posted on facebook the other day: "
Making your first million is great, but the money isn't the reward, it's who you become on the journey that makes it a goal worth accomplishing." Not exact words but close...
Looking forward to see who I will become in less than 4 weeks from now! :)

Day 3 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

Day 3 went slower than the other days.

Wins:
  • I started restructuring my website (to update home page and my services)
  • I had the ads published on craigslist to rent out the bedrooms in my Seattle house
  • I was supposed to meet with a friend to catch up but really felt like I want to get some work done and be productive. Instead of meeting anyway just to keep my word I reached out to her to see if we can re-schedule for later, and she was in a similar spot (would rather get some work done). Win: by asking for what I want I created a win win for both of us.

Insights and learnings:
  • it's OK to hit a snag and get lazy for a day (we are all humans) but no longer.
  • sometimes when there is no inspiration going for a walk by myself or with a good company helps
  • be true to what I want to do and don't do anything out of obligation (try to re-negotiate first)
  • keep a balance between work time and play time is important
  • when the writing isn't flowing (like me updating my website), sometimes that means the clarity is not here yet. Clear the head and the words will come.

Day 2 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

Day 2 went overall well. Some work, some social time, even a bit of dancing, and lots of downtime.

Wins:
  • A client of mine paid for coaching. Woo hoo $500!
  • Met some great people at Self Spark's Seattle "Getting Stuff Done" day and learned more about their event coming up in Seattle in January for which they are looking for speakers. Will definitely apply!
  • Got lots of work done, had a great meeting with my manager and lined up work for next week while I will be in Vancouver.
  • Had an awesome session with my financial adviser, got more ideas about my possible niches: teach small businesses project management skills as well as consult them with project management and help them organized. Something to ponder, I think I will like it and will use all my business analyst/project manager/coach skills for that!
  • Had some relaxing downtime with good company and then slept for 12 hours! Wow I needed that after sleeping for 3-5 hours for the last few nights.

Insights:
  • As long as I take action every day on my goal without attachment to result I am moving forward
  • Sometime downtime and rest is more important than action. If I don't get my batteries re-charged, action is busy and unproductive
  • Doing things that are slightly out of my comfort zone (like making connections and considering public speaking) is mandatory for growth
  • It's important to focus on what I aim for and not on what I don't want or I don't yet have
  • it's important to celebrate the wins rather than look on what else I could have done in the day

Day 3 in progress... Results tomorrow :)

Day 1 of "Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

11/8/2013

OK day 1 of my $15K in 4 weeks challenge is coming to an end.
I loved today! I had lots of fun and felt very much in the flow.
I didn't really get on with my goal until after 3pm.
But after that things just manifested perfectly!

Wins from Day 1:
  • got a discounted tuition on the workshop I will go to in December
  • created more clarity about the specific client niche I can target (corporate people who want more fulfillment).
  • I got an email from craigslist about my Seattle house (which is still not rented) that there is an organization here in Seattle looking for housing for international students asking me if I'd be interested to rent my rooms out to them Will call them tomorrow.
  • I had a great a coaching session with a friend. Made some $, created great value for him and myself. Realized how much I know about certain topics. Felt very different after it, like something has shifted in me.
  • I went to a dinner with a friend out of which I created:
    • my most probably new car (he wants to sell his Audi which is exactly what I want, it even has manual transmission). With that I can sell my car and get a car loan for the new car and with that make some cash! I aim for $6k at least in cash profit :) I really wanted a newer car but hate car shopping, so if everything works out, this will be fantastic!
    • He said he might be interested in working with me as a coach and he knows a lot of people so he will keep ears open for people looking for coaches and project managers
  • My coach friend told me yesterday that I should check out http://www.impacthubseattle.com/. There are some cool people/entrepreneurs. I can meet some awesome people, make great connection and possibly even create some clients. Today another friend of mine went to an event exactly there and later reached out to me and shared that he connected with some people there that he want to introduce me to. They are looking for some speakers for their event in January (!). I always wanted to try on public speaking (and terrified at the same time), so this is interesting! So yes, I should definitely check out the place and meet the people. Also whether or not this specific speaking opportunity pan out, I have one more idea how I can make money that didn't enter my awareness before: public speaking!

Insights and learnings from Day 1:
  • Being in the state of flow is more important that doing a lot of actions
  • Being open to all ways how money can show up
  • Think creatively
  • Take inspired action
  • Share with people what I am up to ($15K challenge), ask for support
  • Focus on creating value for people
  • Play it as a game, don't give it too much importance
  • Celebrate each win!

"Create $15K in 4 weeks" challenge

11/8/2013

Did you ever need lots of cash in a short period of time and had no idea how to create it? Try on a challenge!
As of 11pm last night I took on a challenge to create $15K in the next 4 weeks (by December 4). I have no idea how yet.

How did it start
My friend and also a life coach (who's name will stay anonymous) emailed me couple days ago asking if I want to create "make $10K in 4 weeks" challenge. She said she wanted to go on a trip but didn't feel it was completely responsible for her unless she generates some cash first. I Said "Sure why not!". When we had our first co-coaching session, I decided that I really wanted $15K (not $10K) so that by Dec 4 when I am out of my job I would have generated enough money to feel secure with all my financial obligations. I also decided that I only want to do it in a way that is fun. Scary and uncomfortable: yes, but no more hard work or pushing up the hill!

How I feel
I feel excited and scared. Excited about the opportunity to finally do what I preach "anything is possible when you commit to it" and stretch myself in this area. Scared what if i won's be able to do it.
Is there a guarantee that I will make it happen? Absolutely not. Then I thought: what's the worst thing that can happen? I won't create all of these money and feel like a looser. But I will definitely create some, learn new things, challenge myself and expand my comfort zone. And have fun in the process. And learn what it takes so I can then coach others in doing that! I also remembered that I don't need to know the "How" before I commit, "How" often only shows up after the intention and commitment is set.

Why do I share it here
I don't remember where I read it that when you share your goals/commitments with others, your chances to make it happen go much higher, also so does the disappointment if you fail.
I also remember from the past experiences: it's easy to create if I am 100% committed. If I am half way it's actually harder. So declaring it here I put by butt on the line and will have more motivation to do whatever it takes.

So my commitment is:
  • generate at least $15K on top of my salary by December 4.
  • do it only in the ways that are fun

The game is on!
I will keep you posted here on my progress!
See my next blog for Day 1 results!

Feel inspired to do it too?
Join me with your own goals for the next 4 weeks!
Feel free to reply in comments here!
